When can massage session be scheduled?

 To have the best chance of securing a convenient appointment date and time for a session, I recommend booking at least 1 week in advance. It may be possible to secure an immediate time slot, but it is not a guarantee.

Modalities

That can be incorporated into your session.

I do not charge extra for various modalities
Ex. "Deep tissue or pregnancy" You are paying me to fix you. I know I’d be pissed if my mechanic charged me extra because a bolt was super tight and they had to use more strength to loosen it. 😂

I do not charge different fees for different modalities, as I find it difficult for the client to ascertain the modality they will actually need during a treatment session. So, I practice Integrative massage; I include many different modalities and pressures into each session, as it is custom and individual to each client. I have had clients who do not understand the difference between Deep Tissue & Deep Pressure. Some clients ask for deep pressure, but actually their tissues at time of session are demanding something different. Also I've experienced clients who can not lie on their stomach only on their side so would I then charge them the same rate for a pregnancy massage since its similar? The answer is NO.

+Thai Reflexology Foot Massage 

Feel tired, in pain, and off balanced? Just like a building has to have a leveled balanced foundation, so does your body. Your feet are your base of support, your foundation or your roots upon all else is formed. When you feel fatigued, stressed or tired a foot massage can bring more energy and clarity. Stimulate your body's healing energy with this finger point pressure to relieve pain, enhance health, and readjust and balance your body's systems and energy fields. 

 

 Thai Foot Massage is a massage of the feet and also lower legs. Thai foot massage is both invigorating and deeply relaxing and involves hands on massage, stretching and acupressure to stimulate reflex points. It has elements of Shiatsu, Reflexology, and Chinese massage, incorporated into the treatment. 

+Aromatherapy 

The olfactory sense is found in one of the earliest developed parts of the brain and has one of the most dramatic emotional effects on us. Essential oils have therapeutic value, they are absorbed in two ways. First, inhaling the scent carried it through your nose to your lungs, where it is then absorbed into the bloodstream. Second, by applying the oil to your skin, it is absorbed through the cellular membrane.

 

Aromatherapy is connected to the idea of holism, meaning one must care for the whole person. This begins with the senses. Essential oils are pure energy extracted from herbs, flowers and fruits that work on all levels of the human body. Great for conditions involving stress or improving emotionally-related conditions.

+Stretching Therapy

Stretching has benefits similar to massage. It gets the blood flowing to overactive muscles that have contracted because of stress or immobility. Without a good stretch, these muscles can spasm and shut down and then show up as the marblelike knots that get extra attention. Muscle injuries are more common now than they were 50 years ago. That's not because we're exercising harder. It's because we're more sedentary. As a result, stretching is more important than ever. Many people stretch because they don't want to pull muscles or be injured. But stretching is also one of the best ways to undo the damage caused by inactivity.

 

 

Stretching and massage are two effective techniques that play a beneficial role in both strength training and flexibility training. Massaging a muscle, or group of muscles, immediately prior to performing stretching or strength exercises for those muscles, will increase blood flow and improve circulation, relax the muscles. After overexertion and or intense muscular activity, massage can help remove the accumulated lactic acid and relieve post-exercise soreness and painful muscle cramps. 

The benefits of stretching can be felt throughout the body. It helps stimulate the digestive organs, reduces inflammation in joints, relieves tension, improves concentration, improves posture, and energizes the body.

During active stretching you control the muscle stretch yourself, as in yoga and posing. In passive stretching, such as in massage, the therapist moves your muscle.

+Reiki  (usui shiki ryoho)

Reiki treats the whole person including body, mind, and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well being. Reiki is a simple, natural, safe and non invasive method to promote spiritual and physical healing and increase self awareness that everyone can use. It works well in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.  The client relaxes on a massage table. The practitioner will lay their hands on or near the recipient’s body, positioning their hands at the head, limbs and torso throughout the treatment. The Reiki energy goes where it is needed and knows what to do. It can do no harm. Session is infused with mini-Pranic Healing of the energy field and chakras as needed.

  • Ice application of any kind should be avoided by patients with certain medical conditions, such as for patients who have rheumatoid arthritis, Raynaud’s Syndrome, cold allergic conditions, paralysis, or areas of impaired sensation.
